What is private pet cremation?
Private cremation guarantees that your pet is cremated individually, without any other animals in the cremation chamber. You receive only your pet’s ashes with clear documentation for your records. At Cherished Companions by Haben, we ONLY offer private/individual pet cremation.
Are you available to help me after hours?
If you need assistance outside of our regular business hours, please don’t hesitate to call 847-673-3546. We are often available and here to help.
When are you open?
We recommend calling or scheduling an appointment before visiting the office in person as we may be serving another family.

What happens during the first phone call?
We answer all of your questions, discuss your wishes, and determine services based on your personal preferences for timing, transportation, custom options, urns and keepsakes. We talk about what you can expect throughout the process and help you prepare for next steps.
Can you transport my pet from our home or the veterinarian?
Yes. Home or clinic transfers are available within 30 miles of Skokie, IL for an additional fee. We proudly offer flexible hours and will arrange transport according to your schedule as much as possible.
How is pricing determined?
Pricing depends on your pet’s weight, type of urn and/or keepsake, and the inclusion of any special services such as home transport or witness cremation. Click here to view rates.
How long does private pet cremation take?
The cremation process itself typically takes a few hours, depending on pet size. Final readiness for pickup of your pet’s cremated remains will vary based on scheduling and your urn/keepsake selections. We expedite the process as much as possible to satisfy your wishes.
